Representative Project Experience

Medium-rise to High-rise Developments, Newstead, Queensland

Involved assessment of visual impacts of eight proposed multi-storey developments throughout Newstead and Teneriffe and working with an expert team to achieve a high standard of architectural and urban design outcomes, minimise approval processing time and avoid Planning and Environment Court Appeals.

Ellis Beach Resort, Cairns, Queensland

Included assessment of scenic amenity and visual impacts of major resort, providing layout and building height advice and producing a responsive vegetation management strategy and landscape intent plans to minimise and mitigate visual impacts on a steep vegetated coastal site set against the Macalister Range.

Old Bay Road Structure Plan, Burpengary, Queensland

Jointly commissioned by Council and developer to provide environmental, open space planning and landscape management advice in resolving a dispute over future use of a 15-hectare site.

The resulting plan applies innovative and collaborative methods to produce a highly effective problem solving development plan. Environmental quality outcomes include public open space and a Koala Corridor.

The importance of this approach is the capacity to replace the often lengthy and expensive processes of the Planning and Environment Court by more expert and proactive ones tailored to promote good social and environmental outcomes.
